What’s in the Sock?
By Polly | February 7, 2007
Make dinner time fun and enjoyable with this fun family dinner game and easy to make and great tasting dessert. Also be sure to read about creating a family meal planner. An easy way to eliminate the craziness associated with planning family meals. What’s in the Sock?
One person begins by hiding a “secret” object in a clean sock. He or she passes the sock around the table and lets everyone feel the object. No peeking! Everyone guesses what’s in the sock, and whoever guesses correctly leads the next round. Alternative: Try using an oven mitt to make the game more challenging.
Pudding Cake
This is a family recipe handed down to me by my mother. It is very simple to make and great tasting!
Ingredients
1 Chocolate Cake Mix
1- 4.6oz Package of Vanilla Pudding (Not Instant!)
6 oz of Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup of Crushed Walnuts
Cook the pudding according to the directions on the package. Once completely cooked, combine the pudding and the dry cake mix in a mixer and mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour the batter into a 9×13 greased pan and sprinkle with the chocolate chips and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes.
Helpful Hints - Cut the Craziness
It’s Saturday afternoon and you and everyone else are slugging your way through the crowded grocery store hoping to get out with everything you need and with your sanity in tact. Sound familiar? For many families getting a meal on the dinner table every night is a challenge. From the planning, shopping, and cooking, family meal planning can become overwhelming forcing many families to opt for eating out or quicker less healthy alternatives. One way to save your sanity and get a home cooked meal on the table more often is to use a family meal planner that allows you to plan meals a month at a time and streamline your grocery shopping and meal preparations.
